![]() Make your home warm and cozy for the holidays with DIY luminaries! This is an amazing way to decorate with less and still feel the magic of the holiday season. I've been using luminaries for years now and they never cease to amaze -- thank you the36thavenue.com and candletech.com! I use vanilla scented paraffin wax (the kind you use for pillar candles) because they won't melt from the heat of the soy wax tealight. So read on and have fun!

Make time for you! Make time for calm! A calm, peaceful mind lends to rest for mind and body. No time? I know, I know! Me too! In a time when we just rush, rush, rush with no me, me, me it's tough to have time to even make time. But this recipe is worth making the time. It's got all those ingredients the ooze relaxation and calm; those things that allow us to free our minds for other things. Things like reflecting on loved ones, naming a new business, or just being thankful for being alive. Want more? Come on! Keep reading and start mixing! :)
The skin on the hands of folks that work outdoors or work with their hands in general often easily becomes dry, cracked/chapped, and hard. The key to properly moisturize the hands (even the feet if you stand or are prone to rough dry feet). Cocoa butter is widely known for it's amazing moisturizing properties; myrrh and calendula are both excellent healing oils and aid in tissue regeneration...just what dry, cracked skin needs!
SO! Let's get to mixing!! Wow! What a fun twist on a holiday classic! I LOVE peppermint...the candy, the oil, the flower...all of it! Peppermint is an awesome oil known for a MULTITUDE of uses. Peppermint oil contains Menthol and is totally wonderful for use on the scalp and in skin care. In hair care, peppermint oil relieves the nagging itch of dandruff or dry scalp as well as lice. It's also an excellent nourisher of the skin---calming oily skin and revitalizing dry skin. You can use it as a "refresher" (which is the purpose for use in this recipe) for stress and anxiety. It is also believed to be a good pain reliever...Not to mention it's a neat, thoughtful gift for someone special!
Let's get mixing!
The handmade holiday guide is finally here and ready to be perused by any one who loves anything indie. Personally, I LOVE it when I can sit for even just a few minutes to look at a great magazine. You get such inspiration from the decor and various images. But THIS! This is fun to look at AND fun to read! I've gained a ton of insight from other independent business owners that have something to share with the rest of us. |
